Summer foods to eat
What are summer foods?
Now that temperatures have reached a high summer, we have exchanged our winter coats for bathing suits. These beautiful warm temperatures also cause us to heat up a bit, which makes us feel like we are actually melting and turning into a lot of sweat.
Summer brings fresh fruits and vegetables that are delicious to eat during high temperatures, and bring additional health benefits to your body. Come summer and many places in India turn into an active oven all day. People bathe often, wash their face or eat cold and snacks to avoid heat. In the summer, however, one enjoys an abundance of nature, with abundant fruit and vegetables of the year including mangoes, melons and berries with great ease. The product category in the major markets is full of all kinds of new products. And if you choose a natural option, especially since the product is seasonal, one may be lucky enough to find a product that is free of additives or chemicals. So every time you crave something cool, go for a glass of juice instead of that ice lolly, you will not only make healthy decisions but you will also reduce the many empty calories in your daily diet.
Now we really need food to keep us cool ~ and eat nutritious food. As important as hydration is, and as sweet as imagining a glass of cold water to taste after a long hot day, the water won’t cut it when you’re hungry and circling the hungry. Don’t worry, though, because these summer food recipes will keep you full and happy.
What are the best foods for summer?
We know for sure that we will not be able to get through with this hot weather without Watermelon. Dehydration can lead to many more problems, especially in the summer. Watermelons and muskmelons are very high in water content which helps to regulate body temperature. Staying well hydrated helps to keep your memory sharp and glowing skin. Watermelons also help with weight loss when combined with exercise as the high water content keeps you satisfied with very few calories.
The content of drinking cucumber juice will help you “stay as cool as a cucumber” and force you to eat your vegetables when it is hot. Cucumbers attract stomachs which help detoxify, help with hangovers, and even help digest food. Just grind some and sprinkle some salt to get the perfect snack.
Looks like we need another reason to eat more avocados this summer. Avocados are fruits with a very high amount of monounsaturated acids, which help remove heat and toxins from the blood. Avocados are also easily digested, so your body will not need to work harder and create more heat to digest food. So use those well-ripened summer avocados to keep your body in shape.
Summer is the best season for all the berries that help the body fight many serious diseases. Strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries are also known to increase blood flow throughout the body, rejuvenate the skin and reduce sensitivity to light, making the skin appear brighter and improve texture.
According to Chinese medicine, all berries are very alkaline, which means they will produce cold energy in the body and cool you down. Berries are also high in water, so they help to reduce blood pressure and release heat, and this can be critical during the difficult summer months. The berries are also high in fiber, about 8 grams per cup.
